Dear District 4 Constituents,

Like you, I am concerned about the future of our state. Our state’s fiscal crisis has snowballed over the past decade to the point of bankrupting Arizona. The "Good 'Ole Boy" network has guarded the gates to leadership in this state for years. It's time for a change–time to declare the state's priorities over the mandates from the federal government. We need new leadership. Therefore, I have decided to make a difference by changing the culture from the inside.

I am running for the open State Senate in Legislative District 4 and believe I have the qualifications, background, and dedication to represent Arizonans well in the legislature.

I have excelled academically and athletically all my life. The skills I have learned while playing collegiate football and baseball and in the NFL have given me an understanding of team work, dedication, and participation in something greater than myself. What we need in this state are leaders who are servants first. Leaders who are not afraid of making tough decisions. Leaders who have not been politicians all their life. Leaders who are not beholden to special interests. Leaders who understand they are accountable to the citizens of this state.

I have come to love Arizona, its beautiful land, native culture, and innovative spirit. I’m married, father of two-soon to be three, active in my church, civic, and professional organizations.As a small business owner and patent holder, I know how onerous government restrictions are and how expensive government has become. As a former NFL player, I know how to take a hit, get up, and get back into the game. Earning two advanced degrees taught me the discipline to stay the course and work hard. And as a cancer survivor, I know that tomorrow is not promised. I also know that the answer to most of our problems is less government.

We are taxed too much. We spend too much. We are not protecting our borders, and I have a lot of concerns about the erosion of our 2nd amendment rights. I will walk into the Senate ready to tackle those issues and more.
